ThePromise organises a small number of events including a bi-annual ball.  We also encourage our supporters to organise their own events examples of which can be found under events.

ThePromise 1/2 marathon walk by torchlight 2012

On Saturday 29th September over 30 people joined us on our second sponsored Night Walk. Thanks to the fantastic organisation by Fran Sirl we all met at Teddington Train Station and left on time to begin our walk into the darkness.

Walking through Buhey Park we enjoyed the afternoon sunshine and an encounter with a rather large deer! We continued out of the park, past Hampton Court Palace and on along the Thames footpath toward Kingston. It was wonderful to have a number of youngsters joining us for the first half of the walk and they kept spirits high with games and singing on route.

At the half way point, just past Kingston, we had a refreshment break and saud goodbye to the the younger members to group who heading home. As planned it was dark by this point and so on came the torches and reflective jackets and off we set to continue along the Thames footpath into the darkness toward Richmond.

Thanks to the amazing efforts of everyone we made it to the end in one big group and very high spirits! And the best news if that we smashed our fundraising target and the total raised was £4143!!
