ThePromise organises a small number of events including a bi-annual ball. We also encourage our supporters to organise their own events examples of which can be found under events.
ThePromise Sponsored Night Walk
On Saturday 1st October 2011 17 supporters of ThePromise walked 10miles from Putney Bridge along the river Thames finishing under the world famous Tower Bridge.
In the beautiful October sun we passed some of London’s most famous landmarks, including Battersea Power Station, MI6, Houses of Parliament, The London Eye and St Paul’s Cathedral.
As well as crossing 4 of the Thames main bridges including the Millennium Bridge. Walking into central London as it was getting dark and the lights were coming on made the walk all the more atmospheric.
And seeing Tower Bridge lit up in the distance from the Millennium Bridge certainly helped the tired feet complete the final couple of miles.
We all finished in under 4 hours and despite some sore feet and aching shoulders spirits were high! Especially when Sarah arraived with the bubbly and nibbles. A fantastic evening and even more fantastic is that we have exceeded our fundraising target with the sponsorship still coming in!! Well Done & Thank You to everyone!
