5th birthday party

ThePromise celebrated our 5th Birthday on Thursday 16th October at the Headliners comedy club in Chiswick. Over 150 people attended and were entertained by the highly acclaimed Shakespeare Revue company, who performed “RSVP” – a show specially devised to celebrate our birthday.

Sarah Settelen, founder of ThePromise, spoke about our successes over the past 5 years, showing 5 years worth of video footage. We raised over £2000 through a raffle and the auction of a bottle of House of Commons whisky, signed by Gordon Brown. This will go towards our work with young disabled children in Russia and our plans to expand the programme to include working with older children in Yelatma orphanage .

Just as importantly, it was an opportunity to say a huge Thank You to everyone who has supported us in the past, in whatever way they were able. Whether it was a donation, the gift of time, or just holding our hands as we got ThePromise to its feet in the early days, it was all vital to our success and hugely important.

Thank you to you all for your support, in whatever form it was given!
